What is SFMblue?

SFMblue is Sydney Fish Market's Digital Trading Platform. It is an online marketplace connecting buyers, suppliers, fishers, and wholesalers of quality seafood across Australia and New Zealand.

Is SFMblue replacing the Daily Auction on site at Sydney Fish Market?

No. The digital trading platform will work in conjunction with the traditional Dutch auction at Sydney Fish Market.

However, the online seafood marketplace will allow extended trading hours connecting more sellers to more buyers across the country, and in doing so, provides access to an enormous variety, quality, and volume of species.

Who can join SFMblue?

Fishing and aquaculture businesses will have exposure to registered buyers, including wholesalers, wet shops, retailers, distributors, hospitality groups, and catering groups.

Does SFMblue integrate with any other Apps?

SFMblue is integrated with our existing SFM accounting and order processing systems as well as FishNet which NSW Co-Op's use to weigh in and process their product.

We plan to further expand SFMblue's reach and integration with other business tools in the future.

Are my details shared with 3rd parties?

All data and account information is managed in accordance with Australian Privacy and Data security Laws and SFM's Privacy Policy.

I've forgot my Password. Can I reset it?

Yes. Click "Forgot Password" on the SFMblue Login Screen (https://app.sfmblue.com.au/seller/login) and follow the steps.

My SFMblue screen was blank and a circle appeared to be loading. What can I do?

As a part of SFMblue's security measures and processes, the system will automatically log you out of any sessions you may have running if you have not logged out for 5 consecutive days.

To fix this, simply click on "Log Out" and then log back in to begin purchasing on SFMblue instantly.

Note, if you are on a mobile, you will need to swipe lightly from the Left side of the screen to the centre to drag the main menu across. Then click "Account" and "Log Out".

Can I view the products I've sold?

Yes. The dashboard displays the total sales via category. If you click on the category, the dashboard will provide an overview of total sales for each species.

Can I filter my sales by a specific date?

Yes. The dashboard can be filtered using the pre-set settings (Financial Year, Monthly Sales, Quarters) or you can completely customise the date range displayed.

Why do I have pending payments?

The dashboard outlines product you've been paid for as well as pending payments. These pending payments include any live listings that have been purchased but are yet to reach the completed status. E.g. Ready for Collection, In Transit.

Can I view every product listing on SFMblue?

No. You are only able to select and view sales for your own accounts sales.

Note - if your account is an "Assistant" account, you can see sales for the entire main account. If your account is a "Fisherman" account, you can only view your personal sales linked to the account.

How do I list product for sale on SFMblue?

To begin listing a product on SFMblue, please follow the instructions in our Help Guide.

How do I access my Invoice?

To access invoices, click on the "Sold" tab within the menu. This will display all the product you have sold. Select the order you wish to access the invoice for and click "Invoice".

There was a discrepancy on the weight I'd orignially advertised and my final product weight. Do I receive a new RCTI invoice with the accurate information?

Yes. Both the original invoice and new invoice will be available to access via the "Sold" screen once logged in.

On the right side of the order tile, there is a drop down bar where you can toggle between downloading the original invoice or revised invoice/s.

What does the Minimum Order Quantity mean?

The Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) is a minimum purchase quantity which a buyer must purchase from you. The MOQ is set by the Seller of the listing.

Note - We suggest making the MOQ the same weight as your boxes/crate. E.g. 3 x 10kg Crates of flathead, we'd list this as a 10kg MOQ. Doing this means the entire crate is purchased.

What if the product I sell isn't listed on SFMblue's Product Database?

If the product you’re seeking to sell isn’t listed, you have the ability to "Create a Custom Type". Click the "Create custom type" button when listing your product and our SFMblue team will review the request. Once approved, this product type will be available for all sellers using SFMblue.

Can I change the delivery address my product is being delivered from?

Yes, you have the ability to manually change an address to your profile. Once this has been added (via the account screen), select the new address when listing your product.

Can I manually add a new address to my profile?

You can add an address to your profile. To do this select "Shipping Address" within the Account menu.

Can I receive a summary of my sold products?

All orders are viewable in the "Sold" section of your account. You can also see a snapshot via the Dashboard.

I've listed my product and sold it via direct sale. What do I do once it's been purchased?

There are 3 steps to complete once a Direct Sale product listing has been purchased.

1. Confirm the product weight. To do this click on the "Sold" tab on the main menu, open the "To Ship" section and select the product listing. Click on Confirm Weight, weigh the product and if it's the same as the listing click weight confirmed.

2. Print out the shipping label, adhere it to the crate/box and send it to the delivery destination.

3. Before dispatching to the delivery address, open up the Barcode Scanner on your SFMblue mobile app and select "Scan Out". Doing this is crucial as it will alert the buyer and the SFMblue HUB that this product is in Transit.

Can I back out of a deal on SFMblue?

All payments are processed and final at the time you add product to your cart and checkout.

What is a Market Request?

A "Market Request" is an open callout to all SFMblue Suppliers. SFMblue Buyers have the ability to submit the product species, state, and quantity to be delivered directly to you (almost like a shopping list for products).

How do I submit an offer on a Market Request?

To make an offer on a "Market Request", click on the request and then confirm that you can supply the requested species, size, quality and quantity of product. Submit a price to supply this request, including the delivery costs to deliver to the required address.

Note – Market requests are valid for 7 days. As a supplier you can submit a portion of the request also (e.g. If the request is for 200kg of Whiting, you can supply an offer for 75kg).

What if the Auction price was cheaper that day?

All prices on SFMblue are set and finalised upon acceptance by the buyer. Refunds, credit notes, or rainchecks are not given for a change of mind.

What if the total agreed quantity is not supplied or it is not to the agreed specifications?

SFM is not liable or responsible for any shortfall or discrepancies between the listed product and final delivery, however we will assist where possible on a case-by-case basis.

A product dispute can be submitted if a product is not to the advertised standards - this form can be found in the Help Centre.

A Buyer is able to submit a product dispute form to SFM if they feel the product is not to the advertised standards, which we will then investigate.

Does the Supplier need to pay for the shortfall of product?

We encourage both sellers and buyers to interact in good faith. Sellers are not liable for any discrepancies within the range outlined in the Terms & Conditions or Sydney Fish Market Seafood Handling Guidelines.

We encourage Buyers and Sellers to submit a product dispute form formally to capture any discrepancies.

How do I negotiate?

Sellers can negotiate by clicking on the "Negotiations & Requests" tab within the menu. This will display the existing negotiations. Click on a product listing to either Negotiate, Re-Negotiate or Decline the offer.

Tip - As a seller we suggest setting up SMS notifications for Negotiations under the Notifications Settings. This will ensure you never miss a potential sale.

Do I run out of negotiation credits?

No. Suppliers have unlimited monthly credits so you can negotiate on all your product listings you'd like to.

I've received a negotiation from a buyer, can I reply with a new suggested price?

Yes, if the submitted price is not a price you're willing to accept you can re-negotiate and provide an alternative price you'd be willing to accept.

How long do I have to reply to a negotiation request?

Sellers and Buyers each receive a 3 hour window to reply to negotiations.

What notifications are sent to me?

You can find a complete list of Notifications in the “notifications” tab once signed in.

SFM strongly suggests that all Sellers take the time to setup and select every species and product type you supply. You will only receive product request notifications if the species requested is selected as a "Product I Sell" within your account setup. For help on setting this up, please review the Help Guide (available in the Help Centre) or contact SFMblue's Customer Service team on (02) 9004 1188 for assistance in setting this function up.

Can I change my preferences for receiving notifications?

Yes. All notifications are able to be adjusted via the "Notification Settings" section in the menu. Each account can either setup Global Settings (you receive all notifications via one or more formats e.g. all notifications are delivered to you via email and SMS) or you can completely customise these to suit your own personal preferences.

Can I delegate notifications to other staff or users?

Yes. If those users are setup as "assistants" or "fishermen" on your account, they can also be given access to your notifications if you wish.

Can I amend my Business Account Details?

Details such as Name, Business Name, Address, Email, Phone are all accessible via the “Account” section once signed in.

We've moved our Business Address. Can I amend this?

Yes. You can amend a business location and add additional locations via the “Account” section once signed in.

We have multiple stores and locations for deliveries. Can we list them all on our Account?

Yes. You can add additional locations via the “Account” section once signed in.

Note - be sure to select the correct location when listing product as this will influence which buyers can view your product. (e.g. If a buyer has selected only show me QLD products, your NSW based listing will not be visible)

Can I share my account details with staff?

No. We suggest you setup assistant log-in accounts for any staff. Giving your details to others is a security risk.

Who can access my information?

SFM Customer service and SFMblue staff can access account information. All information is stored and managed in compliance with Australian Privacy and Data security Laws and SFM's Privacy Policy.

When do I get paid for a completed sale?

SFMblue sales are processed and paid within 10 days of the completed sale.
